About Us
Our vision
At WCF, we envision a planet where people and nature thrive together. We believe that environmental conservation and community development are inextricably linked, and that by working together, we can create a more sustainable and equitable future for all. Our mission is to empower local communities all over the world to protect and preserve their habitats, while also supporting their development and well-being. The first company we support is FPWC that has a long history of bringing environmental change to Armenia.
Our team is made up of experts in these fields, as well as local community members who have a deep understanding of the challenges Armenia currently faces.
Let’s talk!
WCF President
Ruben Khachatryan studied Global Environmental Management and Policy in Georgia, Germany, and Switzerland. In 2002 he established the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC). He has many conservation and environmental education projects under his belt.
One of his most important inputs in Conservation efforts is the establishment of the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge (CWR) in 2010, as a Privately Protected Area with a surface of 30,000 hectares connecting crucial migratory corridors for endangered species.
From 2011 to 2020 he was the director of Yerevan Zoo. During his time there, the Yerevan Zoo transformed to match the EAZA Standards.
